When life presents you with choices, go with your gut and then make that choice work.

I recently retired from teaching and live in Quesnel, British Columbia. My journey through life has taken me from England to Africa and throughout Canada. I received my Bachelor of Education from the University of Victoria and have taught in various urban and rural schools in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and British Columbia. My hobbies include wilderness camping, kayaking, traveling, reading, photography and of course writing (realistic suspense novels, short stories and freelance articles).

Writing has taken me by surprise and consumes my days. So far, I have completed four works of fiction. Strength of an Eagle was inspired by the disappearance of women along the ‘Highway of Tears’ and the drug smuggling problems in Northern B.C.. Half-Truths, Total Lies, my second novel, is a story of murder and blackmail in a rural school. Alone is the tale of two sisters isolated on Canada’s West Coast. Widow’s Luck is set in both the Chilko Lake area of British Columbia and in a fictional country in Africa. This novel features a female serial killer, lots of forensics, scams and intrigue.

My kayaking adventures, teaching experiences and outdoor activities have influenced the substance and voice of my stories. I have had articles published in Our Canada, More of Our Canada and Postscript. Several photographic essays have been included in the Royal Photographic Society(Canada) on-line magazine. When I’m not busy creating stories, I enjoy travelling in both Canada and abroad.
