Three more packing tips that might save you grief:

1.Take only comfortable clothing that fits. You probably won’t lose weight no matter how much walking you do.

2. You never know when you might need a hat for the weather conditions or (ladies) for entry into some religious buildings or sites. Pack a crushable hat, with a wide brim, that can be stowed in your day bag. If it’s on your head or in your bag, you are less likely to leave it behind somewhere.

3. Cheap umbrellas are available everywhere. Don’t bother to pack one.
